We're routing for you to finish but should you, or

We're routing for you to finish but should you, or a team mate be forced to Call It, and withdraw from the event for any reason, the following recovery procedures will apply:

• Recovery from START to Checkpoint #3 will be done by the sweep vehicle.

• Vehicles will be available at Checkpoint # 2 and Checkpoint # 3 to transport withdrawals to Checkpoint #5 where their own support is waiting.

• The same as above will apply from Checkpoint #4

• A sweep vehicle will travel behind all participants to assist/collect anyone with problems (mechanical and/or otherwise) and transfer them to the next Checkpoint.

• From Checkpoints #5 – #7 recovery will be done by teams’ own support vehicle (not applicable for #6).

• At Checkpoints #1 transport arrangements can be made with the Checkpoint Marshal or wait for a sweep vehicle.

Having the right partner is one of the most crucial parts of having a successful Trans Baviaans experience. You need to be completely comfortable with that person and able to tell them exactly how you are feeling. The last thing you want is to push yourself above your capabilities just because you feel uneasy about telling your partner.

There are times in the race when all you have is each other and operating as a team becomes vital to the success of your race. You need to be able to depend on one another because at some point you will both hit a wall and that's when you need the people around you the most.

Being a narrow valley bounded by two mountain ranges: the Baviaanskloof Mountains and Kouga mountains, the weather can vary not only by time of year, but also by where you are situated within the Baviaanskloof.
The weather and terrain are after all, what makes the Kloof so abundant & lush, with a wide variety of plant species.
